Stearic acid is found asa triglyceride in cocoa butter and shea butter. It is used to enrich foodinstead of palmitic acid and trans-fat in the food industry. Stearic acid isapplicable in the production of soaps, detergents, shampoos, shaving creams, andcosmetics.

Stearic acid has been used as a light chainfatty acid (LCFA) to study its effects on the dysfunction of tumor-derived exosomelipid-induced dendritic cells.
